Brief Summary
The country of Honduras has around 8 million inhabitants. The majority are agricultural or factory workers. The average income is around $100-$150 a month. The official unemployment rate is at 28%. However, due to the lack of jobs, the Under-employment rate is actually estimated at around 60%. More than 38% of the population is under 14 years of age and have little hope of receiving more than an elementary education and even less hope of becoming economically stable during their lifetime.
In the midst of poverty and lack of hope, Ambrocio and Norma Cordova have been ministering in their home country of Honduras for 30 years. In 2003, Ambrocio moved his family to CENTRAL Honduras to start an extension Bible Institute to train pastors and leaders in church planting, theology, and pastoral care. Currently, Ambrocio is starting a dental school and clinic. Poor Hondurans receive no dental care. The school will train poor Hondurans in dental hygiene and basic dental procedures. The graduates will go out into the countryside and run regular clinics. Ambrocio and the students of the Bible institute will come alongside the clinics and use this to start churches in very poor areas.
