Our ministry is to create long term, authentic relationships by bringing churches throughout the U.S. together with poor churches. Each project is specifically designed to meet the needs of the poor churches while also taking into consideration the uniqueness of their U.S. partners.
What the groups do?
The churches we work with have their unique and different ways of approaching ministry, yet each of them have elements in common. They all want to build a place where their people can go to encounter God. They all want to do a children's Bible program that will open up doors into their communities, and they want the Americans to spend time with their people in relationships of dignity and equality.
Construction: The U.S. teams work under a contractor chosen by the local church. They have sufficient knowledge to design and build their own structure. The majority of the construction does not require skilled workers, anyone can help. Team members and volunteers from the hosting ministry provide labor such as mixing cement, constructing steel columns, and digging foundations.
Children's Program: The children's program includes crafts, puppets, and Bible stories. The team provides materials for the crafts, while the local children's ministers present the Bible stories. Beyond Partnership provides puppets and taped scripts that the team members and locals can present together.
Relationship Building: We provide multiple ways for team members to build relationships with their local brothers and sisters. Breakfast and Lunch are planned and prepared by the women of the church and assisted by team members. Local volunteers and team members eat these meals together. Team members usually have the opportunity to visit the home of a local church member who provides a special meal for them. Teams will also be a part of worship services by singing a couple songs and sharing testimonies.
