Thank you so much for your interest in the Pastors’ Children Education Fund. This is a special project that provides funds to help the pastors in the Guatemalan association to be able to send their children to school.
Guatemalan pastors live “by faith”. These pastors do not have a stable income and totally depend on special offerings given by the people in their congregations. Many pastors simply do not have the money it takes to send their children to school. Even for public schools, the child must buy a uniform, school supplies and books. One pastor’s wife told me that she worries about the suffering and poverty her children will have to experience if they “choose to live by faith.” Creating an opportunity for education decreases the probability of the children ending up with no job, a menial job or ending up in gangs. This fund takes away some of the worry by providing an education for their children.
What is the cost?
The yearly cost is $250 dollars. The funds are dispersed twice a year (at the beginning of each semester) directly to the pastors. The Guatemalan school year begins in January so funds are collected in the fall for the upcoming school year.
Can I choose my child?
Yes. Click here to see photos of the children. If you choose not to sponsor a specific child, feel free to donate to the general Pastors’ Children Education Fund and your donation will be used for non-sponsored children.
How do I sign up and donate?
Email Jan Castro at jan@beyondpartnership.org with the name of the child you are interested in sponsoring.
You may donate online to the Pastors’ Children Education Fund or by sending a check to Beyond Partnership, PO BOX 5180, Sacramento, CA 95817. You may pay monthly, quarterly or all at once.
What can I expect after I sign up?
You will receive a picture and short biography of the child you will be helping. Our goal is to update this twice a year with pictures and letters. This project follows our philosophy of working under the nationals and therefore the updates are dependent upon them. You will also be able to send pictures and letters to your child.
